School Play

Student, parent, and teacher volunteers have given their time, energy, and creativity to put on a school musical play for the past several years. Fourth and fifth graders who have an interest in performing may audition and perform. Auditions are held in January. In February rehearsals begin for the performance in March. Tech crew members assist in preparing sets and backdrops, operating sound and lights, and various technical tasks on and about the stage. For the past 5 productions  there have been about 80 students taking part in the cast and crew, with many parent volunteers, and volunteer music direction by the school vocal music staff. Due to the popularity of the shows it has become necessary to perform on two evenings.

Plays for the last few years have included:

2008 –The Magical Land of Oz, based on the book by Frank Baum

2006 – Peter Pan, the Broadway version

2005 – The Wind in the Willows, based on the book by Kenneth Grahame

2004 – How to Eat Like a Child, based on the book by Della Ephron, consisting of 22 lessons on how to behave like a child.

2003 – Free to Be...You and Me, based on the book by Marlow Thomas.

Before 2003 – Liberty Street, by Deirdre Marlow

                     – Neverland , based on (you guessed it!) Peter Pan

                     – Tadpole Dreams
