We seek to enhance the rich cultural
background of all our students and to develop an appreciation of and respect
for the cultural, racial, ethnic, and gender diversity of all school
community members. We deem the development of self-esteem essential to the positive growth of all our students. A positive self-concept will lead to the self-respect and self-worth of each child. We believe that students who view themselves as competent learners will make good decisions and become effective problem solvers . As we move into the twenty-first century with our instructional program, we plan to identify those students who are not achieving commensurate with their abilities. Our teachers will utilize a variety of instructional strategies and materials to enhance student learning These will include:
We will identify and incorporate the talents, expertise, and resources of the total school community in meeting the following student goals: •Students will demonstrate behaviors that reflect a strong sense of value. •Students will appreciate their individual self-worth. •Students will learn to think critically and problem solve. •Students will develop an awareness and appreciation of cultural and ethnic differences. •Students will be instructed to attain higher levels of understanding, achievement and performance in all areas including the fine arts. •Students will develop effective communication skills, learn to access information from a variety of sources including technological, and use these skills as lifelong learners and successful members of an ever changing and challenging society.
